School News

Would you or a friend wants to be our teacher?
To replenish our qualified teacher's pool, we are actively looking for Cantonese teachers for the upcoming 2025–26 school year. If you are passionate to spend two hours every Friday night to accomplish some meaningful contribution in raising your (and ours) kids, please consider applying to be our teacher.

We are looking for teachers who:
✔️ Are fluent in Cantonese
✔️ Can read and write Traditional Chinese
✔️ Have teaching experience with upper grade students (preferred but not required)
✔️ Are passionate about giving our kids a good education

If you or any of your friends are interested, please feel free to contact our Principal Annie Chen at [email protected]. She would be very happy to share with you on more details. All our teachers are paid employee of the school.

Early registration is done. Regular registration continues.
From now till 2 weeks before the school starts in September, any parents who have not registered their child can visit our webpage to register online.
Registering before the school starts helps us plan ahead on deciding class sizes, renting classrooms, assigning teacher and ordering textbooks. For the parents, it helps to ensure they are ahead in line in case the class is full. For current students, you can use the student ID provided in the email from [email protected] to help complete the online registration form.

After submitting the online registration form, the system will inform you the amount to pay. You can mail in a personal check for the amount or pay via PayPal (add $20 PayPal fee). We also give a $10 sibling discount for the 2nd child.

By mid-August, we will close down the online registration and any further registration has to be done on-site on the first 2 weeks of class. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.

Open House tour on April 11 and April 25.
To help prospective new parents get to understand better how our Chinese school works, we will be hosting Open House tour during the two Fridays, April 11 and April 25. There will be no school on April 18 due to Spring Break. Any parents interested in joining the tour will need to come to Student Center at 6:45pm to 7pm on those two Fridays to sign in. The tour will start promptly at 7pm and is expected to last around half an hour. Our Curriculum Directors will be there to lead the tour and answer questions. A set of current textbooks and workbooks will also be displayed for parents' review. Please feel free to invite any potential new parents to visit our school.

Take action, pre-register your child now and save some money!
In April of every school year, our school will have a pre-registration period for all current and new students. By gathering a good projection of the in-coming student count, it helps the school to plan for the classrooms and teachers, and to order enough textbooks for all the students coming in next year. In return, the school offers a tuition discount to all parents who would pre-register their child in this early registration period.

For the coming 2025-2026 school year, the early registration period will be from Friday April 4 to Friday April 25. Every parent who pre-register would enjoy a $60 discount. Please visit our registration page to learn more about the tuition fee and registration details. To pre-register, simply go to our online registration page and complete the form. Parents can pay with Paypal ($20 processing fee applies) or send/turn in payment to the school by April 25.

Early registration is especially encouraged on the CK (Kindergarten) class because it would help the parents to secure a place for their child. If the CK class is full during the regular registration period, we would have to place any next-in-line prospective students on a waiting list.

Don't delay, pre-register your child to get the discount right away!

Happy Chinese New Year Celebration Party 2/9/2024.
We had lots of fun and plenty of great food in this party night. Just look at the pictures here by our official photographer Philip and some more here, you will feel the energy in the whole cafeteria. There were so many good dishes for everyone to try in the first hour, then we have a musical performance, followed by numerous games organized by the student council. The background music was perfect and we did not want to leave when the time comes.

Website was corrupted and we lost some files from 9/15/2023 to 2/9/2024.

Back to School Night on Friday 9/15/2023.
After two nights of onsite registration, we had our Back-to-School night on 9/15. Each year on the 3rd day of class, we hold this event to align all our parents with the school's plan for the year. The first hour would be the Annual General Meeting where the school board members would introduce to all parents the board members of the coming school year, our financial report, parents volunteering duties and our planned activities in the coming 9 months. The next hour would be the parents-teacher meeting where the parents of each class would meet up with their class teacher, get an idea of the teacher's classroom setup, and elect two parents reps to help organize activities and celebrations specific to the class.

We had a good participation this year and o
ur photographer Philip took some pictures of the night.

2nd day of school is on Friday 9/8/2023. Last day of onsite registration.
We are accepting registrations in all classes, including CK, C1 and C2. If you missed the onsite registration on our 1st day of class, there is another chance on the 2nd day of class Sept 8. Please come to the Student Center next to Building B in Homestead High School at 7pm.

1st day of school is on Friday 9/1/2023. Easy to remember.
After this long and hot summer, we are glad it is almost over and our evening Chinese school will start again.
If you have not registered your child in our Chinese school, please visit
Registration to learn more about our registration and come on the first two days of school, Sept 1 and Sept 8, at 7pm at Homestead High School (HHS) to register your child. We will be in the Student Center next to Building B.

For returning students, please note that our usual classroom Building B has completed brand new renovation and we are moving back this year! Building B is on the east side of campus, near the student parking lot. Parents are advised to drop off their child in the Horseshoe area along Homestead Rd, or at the student parking lot which is closest to the classrooms. Our office will be in room B109. Please come to this room if you need any assistance.

For those students who had pre-registered during our early registration period, or had registered online, please check out the Classroom Map to see which room your class is assigned. We will also post the class assignment on the front door of each room.
For others who have not registered, we will conduct our usual onsite registration on Sept 1 and Sept 8 in the Student Center. Registration will start promptly at 7pm so that your newly registered child can go to the classroom asap. Please bring a checkbook to make the tuition payment.

One thing to note is currently our CK, C1 and C2 classes are getting full, so we are accepting names into a waiting list. If you would like to be on the waiting list, please come to Homestead High School’s Student Center at 7pm on Sept 1 to register your child. We will try to accommodate as many as we can on the waiting list according to the registration order.
All the other classes, from C3 and above, are open for immediate enrollment.

Separately we contacted HHS to see if they are willing to let us rent their gym for our badminton class. Initial response was discouraging. They rejected our request on all the dates. We are trying to contact their Athletic Director to learn if we can remedy the situation.

See you all on our 1st day of class, Friday Sept 1 at 7pm!

Congratulations to the winner of this year's Yearbook Cover Design Contest.

This school year has come to an end. As usual, we distributed the yearbooks to our students during the last day of class.
This year we have a high number of contestants submitting their beautiful drawings to compete in the
Yearbook Cover Design Contest. It is indeed a very tough challenge to the judges to evaluate and decide on a winner. We are impressed by the dedication work each student had put in and we want to give every participant a round of applause here:
👏 Abigail Liu 廖心悅 from C1
👏 Pui Wai Sun 孫佩韋 from C1
👏 Serena Yin 尹星月 from C1
👏 Gloria Liu 廖心怡 from C3
👏 Jonathan Cheung 張緯琪 from C5
👏 Ella Cheng 鄭思詠 from C8, and

All participants' submitted entries and stored here.

After careful and deliberate considerations, the judges had announced the one submitted by our C-Advance class student, 張綺琪 Joyce Cheung, to be the winning design in this year. Her drawing consists of several adoring rabbits gathering together cooking and enjoying food for the new Year of the Rabbit. This winning design becomes the cover of our school yearbook this year.

And not to be outdone by this exciting moment, the School Board has started calling for entries in the upcoming WVCLS 60th Yearbook Cover Design Competition!

Announcing our first ever Summer Learning Program by our Student Council!
Our Student Council, led by students from Grade 6 and above, have designed a free Summer Learning Online Program to increase Chinese learning engagement for all our students during the summer. It consists of fun videos tailored to different grade levels, including Chinese grammar, Chinese history and idioms. giving students a cheerful and educational experience during their summer break.

To further our students' participation, we are giving a prize to every student who score +90% in the online quiz when the next school year begins. Have fun in the Summer Learning Online Program and feel free to send us a message in the Contact Us page if any questions, comments or suggestions. Have a great summer!

Closing ceremony on 6/2/2023. Have a great summer!
It was a joyful yet solemn night. First we announced the two senior students graduating from our school this year. Both of them are receiving our scholarship to help them in attaining college next year. Besides calling out each of our winners in the 3/26 ANCCS competitions, we invited the student who won the 1st place in the Cantonese speech contest to present her winning speech to us. Next our current Student Council described the activities they organized in the past year, and introduced every council officer in the next school year. After the introduction, we delivered the scholarship awards to the two graduating students and also presented a Teacher Service Award to our longtime teacher who had been with us for 20 years. Each of our current school board members then came to the front to address the audience and also we announced the board members for the next school year.

All in all it was a memorable occasion and we were happy to see so many young boys and girls are growing up and completing another school year of Chinese learning. Our school photographer Philip had captured these moments again in these great pictures.

Have a great summer!

School year is coming to close. Our thanks to all the volunteering to make this happen!
Our school is run by volunteers. They are our students' parents, graduates and alumni. They take up operations such as Traffic Duties, Security Patrol, Event Helper, Competition Judge, Classroom Support, Teacher Assistant, Board member and many more. Because of their help, we are able to run the school smoothly and economically while maintaining the non-profit status, giving our students the best education we can. We want to thank everyone for their selfless giving and devotion to the school.

Besides the countless volunteering hours, many parents donated fundraising gifts or cash to the school. Every penny of these gifts goes to the school's operation, such as textbook and yearbook printing, teachers' salary, and classroom rental. Furthermore, when the parents' workplace has a company matching program, they submitted their volunteer hours such that the company will donate a corresponding cash amount to the school. We received a substantial matching donation in the past year from companies like Apple, Cisco, eBay, Google, Intel, Lam Research, ServiceNow,...etc. We sincerely thank them for supporting their employee in volunteering in the school.

This coming Friday May 26 will be the final exams and June 2 will be our Graduation Ceremony. Many students are looking forward to that date as we will have classroom parties after the Ceremony. All parents are welcomed to come to the Ceremony and join the parties to share the joyous moments with their child. It is a time to celebrate the past nine months of hard work and Chinese learning by their child. Slowly and surely the children had learned a few new Chinese words, a few Cantonese pronunciation, plus some Chinese culture along the way.

Before we close out the year, we want to spread the word that we are looking for teachers on all grade levels. Our enrollment had been steadily increasing in the past years. To maintain a reasonable student to teacher ratio, we need to split classes. We also have some usual attrition and substitution to fill. If you or any friends/relatives are interested and passionate in teaching and guiding our young children, please feel free to take a look at our hiring post and contact Vice Principal Angie if any questions.

See you in the Graduation Ceremony and have a wonderful summer!

It was a great evening on May 12 Family Fun Night.
The weather was very pleasant and many of us stayed till almost 10pm enjoying the Family Fun Night.
This is our last fun event organized by the Student Council before the Final exam and graduation. So we are excited to stick around.

There were several fun games hosted by the student council members. After completing each game, a student would get a check-off mark to pick up a small prize from the prize table. The fun part is we can play the game as many times as we want and get as many prizes as we want.

To entertain the waiting parents, we have peach tea, milk tea, popsicles and ice cream for sale. And thank you to some generous parents, they donated stuffed animals and toys for sale to fundraise for the school.

Our official photographer Philip, besides taking all the pictures, becomes our official salesman for the night and helped out up-selling all our toy donations. The school made many dollars more due to his great effort!

Looking for volunteer to be our Yearbook Editor.

Dear Parents,
Past editions of the WVCLS Yearbook have been made possible through the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, and parent volunteers. We are currently looking for a Yearbook Editor to make this school year's Yearbook happens! If you are interested in taking on this rewarding role, please contact us at [email protected]. As the Yearbook Editor, you will be exempt from all the general service and traffic duty for the remainder of the school year. 👍🏻

The primary responsibilities of the Yearbook Editor include:
  • Coordinating with room parents from all grades to collect class page submissions and securing teacher approvals.
  • Collaborating with the student council to gather submissions for the school activities page.
  • Ensuring all layouts are aligned and aspect ratios are corrected.
The school board will provide project templates, suggested timelines, and proofreading assistance. The project will begin in February and conclude in late April, with an estimated 20-30 hours of volunteering work over the course of the project. There is nothing comparable to the excitements when your children are flipping through the yearbook pages filled with memories custom-made by yourself!

If you are interested in taking on this important role, please send email to [email protected].
We truly appreciate your support and look forward to hearing from you!

Warm regards,
WVCLS School Board

Calling for volunteer hours submission.

As you might have known, the school's activities are mostly supported by our volunteering parents. To defray the tuition cost, we rely on many generous donations from our parents and their employers' matching grant program. Different employers have their different matching grant process. Some might require their employee to submit the volunteer hours annually, while some might do it quarterly. Some would match volunteer hours with cash grant to school, while others would match dollar-to-dollar donations. Whatever steps they have chosen to take, most employers would set a deadline where their employee have to submit the matching grant request. We would like to remind all our generous and supportive parents to check out their employers' matching grant process, and to make sure filing the volunteer hours or donations in time so that our school would be able to receive the much needed and appreciated donations from the employers.

If you have any questions or need assistance with this process, please feel free to reach out to [email protected]. She would be able to give you some guidance or supportive documentation needed for matching grants. On behalf of the whole school, we sincerely thank you for your continued support!

It is the time of April, when we are gearing up for the early bird registration.
In every April, our school will start the early bird registration for the next school year. We encourage all our current students and even new students joining our school to register early during this time. This would help the school to do a better planning for the upcoming school year, such as hiring for more teachers if a certain class is projected to be very full, or combining classes if the enrollment turns out to be too low.
So go check it out at our registration page. Anyone can sign up using the online registration form and enjoy a discount in registration fee!

Congratulations to the ANCCS academic competition winners!
我們西谷學校總共 18 位參賽者,有 11 位同學獲獎。這是一個很好的成績。沒有得獎的同學,這是一個很好的經驗。不要氣餒,下年再接再厲!

Congratulations to our Read Aloud winners!
After a long 4-weeks Christmas and New Year break, the first thing our younger class students do is to compete in the Speech (Read Aloud) Contest.
With ample of preparation, they were all performing exceptionally well. For many fellow classmates, it was a thrilling and educational experience to stand in front of a small audience and loudly delivering a short speech. We want to congratulate those who had demonstrated their best and were recognized by our parents judges.

We will give out the winning certificates to them on Picture Day Feb 2, 2024, and they will be our first-in-line to compete in the upcoming ANCCS competition scheduled to be on 3/24/2024.
Keep up the good work!

Happy Chinese New Year of the Rabbit!
Everyone had a big feast last Friday. There were s
weet glutinous rice cake, curry fish balls, red bean soup, dumplings, sweet rice balls, cake, fried wonton, fried rice, chow mein, roast pork, fried shrimp, and even a whole crab! Several parents actually cooked the food in an Instant Pot® pressure cooker and bring the whole pot in so that the food would stay fresh and hot. Our parents are genius!
Of course our students likes the candies the best, such as Hi-chew and
Ferrero Rocher hazelnut chocolate.

Two of our talented students presented a live performance on two Chinese musical instruments: Erhu (二胡) and Ruan (阮) which is such an inspiration to many young students who were watching. To entertain younger kids, our student council set up booths for Chinese zodiac reading, fortune wheel, Chinese art craft and several games with candy prizes for winners.

As usual,
our school official photographer Philip Wong had captured the memorable moments with his high end camera and stored them here. Enjoy!

Don't miss the Chinese New Year potluck celebration on Friday 1/27 at 7pm!
Welcome to the Chinese New Year, the year of the rabbit!
恭祝新年快樂,身體健康!
On this coming Friday, instead of the regular classroom instruction, we will have a Chinese New Year potluck party at the cafeteria. Each parents are asked to bring a dish to share on their class's table in the cafeteria. We can try out delicious food from our children's class as well as those from other classes.  At the same time, the school have ordered a whole roast pig to be shared with all families.

Our student council will also do a live performance and set up some games for our students.
Come join us in the fun!

ANCCS Academic Contest 2023 is now open for registration.
Every year, Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (ANCCS) holds an academic competition among the students from more than 110 Chinese schools in northern California. This year, the competition will be held on Sunday March 26, 2023. It will be a fun and exciting day to meet many fellow Chinese students from across the bay area and compete with them in the same room! As there are limits on how many students from each school can enter each category of the competition, our students are encouraged to submit this Registration form asap before Friday Feb 3, so that we can coordinate to sign up the most of our students to each category. The competition categories include Cantonese Read Aloud, Mandarin Read Aloud, Pencil Calligraphy, Mandarin Speech, Cantonese Speech, Western Drawing, Chinese Painting, Chinese Writing Composition, and many others. Feel free to register to compete in any of them.

Many many thanks to your generosity!!!
As of today, our school has received over $4300 cash donations! They are from our parents, alumni, friends and several undisclosed donors. Moreover, as some of their work places have matching programs, we received matching funds from companies such as Google, eBay, Lam Research, Intel, Apple, Cisco, etc. Our school is run by parent volunteers and every penny of the donations are going to the operation of the school. On behalf of the school, we want to give our sincere thanks to all the generous donations and everyone who are contributing their time or money to help running the school.

As our school is a non-profit organization, your donations are fully tax-deductible. Please visit our Support Our School webpage for more details.

12/9 Speech Contest 朗讀比賽 winners are here!
Whether our children came out winning or not, it was a great experience for them. In most classes, the speech is reading aloud or reciting a paragraph of Chinese literature. Each student is asked to stand in front of the class to preform the speech, giving them an opportunity to practice public speaking. Some would come out assertive and firm, pronouncing the words one by one. Others might come out shaking, but holding steady towards the end. A very few might just be too shy, and parents had to videotape the performance to send in as a make up.

We are delighted to announce the winners here of the five classes. Our teachers gave the students a lot of motivation and will present them with a winning certificate on the Picture Day on Feb 3, 2023. They will also be the first in line to participate in the Speech Contest to be held by ANCCS (Association of Northern California Chinese Schools 北加州中文學校聯合會) on 3/26/2023. We encourage all of our students to keep practicing speech. More practice will calm our stage fright, induce us to clearly verbalizing each word, and stimulate our body gestures to deliver the topic to the listening audience.
Picture
11/4 Penmanship contest 書法比賽 are done, and the winners are ...
Many students tried their best and parents were surprised at the great calligraphy their children was able to achieve. Our many volunteering parents-judges spent diligent hours evaluating, comparing and finally made the winning list. These winners will be presented by their teachers with a certificate on the Picture Day on Feb 3, 2023 and their winning entries will be included in our annual Yearbook.

For those of us who did not win this time, don't be discouraged. Keep practicing and improving, as the ANCCS (Association of Northern California Chinese Schools 北加州中文學校聯合會) Academic Contest will be coming up soon (3/26/2023). Even though the winners in our Penmanship Contest will have priority in participating in the ANCCS Penmanship Contest 鉛筆書法比賽, all our students are welcomed to join (if space is available in any contest). Please refer to ANCCS contest details and sample exams.

Watch out for our eNews newsletter!
Many thanks to Amanda, our Marketing/Public Relations Director, who have been diligently preparing and sending out our monthly newsletters. It contains a lot of information on the upcoming events happening in our school.

In the latest eNews #3, it described the
Halloween Family Fun Night we had last Friday, and the next upcoming event, Penmanship Contest 書法比賽, to be held on Nov 4. This is a Pencil Calligraphy Contest where the students will be given a short piece of Chinese words to demonstrate their calligraphy skills. Besides winning a certificate, they will be eligible to enter into the annual ANCCS academic competition next year.

eNews #3 also described our Yearbook Cover Design Contest. At the end of every school year, our school publishes a Yearbook, free to every student. We invite student participation in designing the cover of the yearbook. The competition is now open and the deadline to turn in an entry is Friday 3/10/2023. Please read the submission details in the newsletter and we recommend our students to start early on this contest.

Lastly, our 2nd (1st one was on 10/14) and the last Class Observation Day will be on 11/18. Parents can pick up a one-page blank form in a box in Building L hallway, go inside a classroom, observe and provide some comments on the form, then drop it off back into the box. We would not give any specific parent names back to the teacher, but would only aggregate the comments and provide a general feedback to the teachers to reflect our opinions and hopefully improve their teaching to our students in the future.

If you had not received the newsletter in the email, please feel free to contact Amanda at
[email protected], or send us a message at the Contact Us page to add your email address into our email list.

Lots of fun in our Halloween Family Fun Night Friday 10/28.
Our students and parents had lots of fun last Friday playing games, enjoying boba milk tea, ice cream, and the raffle drawing till 10pm! Certainly lots of us had captured many prizes, big and small. Our school official photographer Philip Wong had captured the excitement in these pictures, plus many more pictures from our PTA Director Ken Law. Enjoy!

Thank you to many students in our student council and several volunteering parents who had made this event a success. This is a fund-raising event organized by our student council and subsidized by our school. It gave the students an experience in managing events and raising operating funds for future student council activities.

Join us in back-to-school night coming Friday 9/9 7:15pm in HHS cafeteria.
From 7:15-8pm, we will have our annual All Parents Meeting at the Homestead High School (HHS) cafeteria where we will introduce this school year's volunteer school board members, information on our finance, parent participation, planned activities and some important dates. We will also have a short time for parents' questions and answers, plus some light refreshments (most likely some mooncake 月餅 😃) after the meeting.
At 8pm, our parents can proceed to their child's classroom to attend a meeting with the teacher. The teachers would mostly be describing their plan of teaching in the coming school year, their expectation on the students, and try to confirm one or two parents as volunteer class rep. The class rep main function is to forward school news to other parents, collect a class fund (~$30/student) and manage spending the money on class functions during Christmas, New Year and end of school year party.

This year we had 20 new kindergarteners joining our CK classes with over 100 total enrollments. We expect to have a busy school year this year. Stay cool and have fun!

1st day of school is on Friday 8/26/2022. Come and register your child.
If you have not registered your child in our Chinese school, please visit Registration to learn more about our registration and come to the first two days of school, Aug 26 and Sept 2, at 7pm at Homestead High School (HHS) to register your child. We will be in Building L room L108.

After a successful and safe onsite classroom instruction in the past school year, we plan to continue onsite in the coming 2022-2023 school year, following HHS re-opening policy and guidelines. We encourage everyone to be fully vaccinated and to wear mask inside classrooms. It will help keep everyone safe and healthy during these lingering pandemic times.

Please note that our usual classroom Building B is under renovation. So we will be conducting our classes in Building L this year, which is on the west side of campus, near the intersection of Mary Ave and Homestead Rd, next to the faculty parking lot. Parents are advised to drop off their child along the faculty parking lot which is closest to the classrooms. Our office will be in room L108. Please come to this room if you need any assistance.

For those students who had pre-registered during our early registration period, or registered online, please check out the classroom assignment posted in front of Building L before going to your assigned classrooms.
For others who have not registered, we will conduct our usual onsite registration on Aug 26 and Sept 2 in room L108, our office, in Building L. Registration will start promptly at 7pm so that your newly registered child can go to the classroom asap. Please bring a checkbook to make the tuition payment.

HHS decided to reserve their gyms during their volleyball and basketball season. We are sorry that we would not be able to conduct our badminton class for our parents and community friends during this school year.

See you all on our 1st day of class, Friday Aug 26 at 7pm!

A recap of our school at Hong Kong Day 香港節 on 7/2.
Many thanks to the great support by our board members: Amanda, Angie, Rachel, Rebecca, Wendy, plus their families! Our booth at the event site was able to attract many new perspective parents and also reunite some of our current and former students' parents. At the same time, we collected some potential candidates for our Cantonese and Mandarin teaching opportunities.

This is the first such event held in the bay area. According to the event organizer, there were over 6,500 attendees visited the site. Our booth showcased the uniqueness of our school, where we focus on teaching the Cantonese language. This is the dialect spoken by all the Hong Kong residents, and all the 126 million residents in China's most populous Guangdong (Canton) province. When you know Cantonese, you will feel at ease shopping and dining in all the Chinatowns around the world.

Here are some memorable pictures at the event and an interview by Deltapath.

Visit us at our booth on Saturday 7/2 Hong Kong Day 香港節 in Milpitas.
Hong Kong Day is organized by 415EHK focusing on Hong Kong culture, consisting of food and retail vendors, guests’ seminars, music performances, exhibitions, games, workshops, etc. It will be held on 7/2 from 12 noon to 6pm at Crosspoint Church of Silicon Valley (indoor baseball court) at 658 Gibraltar Ct., Milpitas, CA 95035. For more details of the event, feel free to check out their website, watch the June 20 KTSF26 interview, or visit their Facebook page.

Successful conclusion of the school year. See you in August!
After nine months of on-site Chinese school, all our students deserve a good summer break. During the promotion ceremony on 5/27, we were happy to congratulate six graduating seniors and even happier to be able to award scholarships to four of our senior students. All of them had achieved good academic performance and demonstrated a dedication to learning Chinese and its culture. Here are some pictures of the happy moments from our school official photographer Philip Wong, and some more from our Marketing Director Amanda on our CKA class.

Plenty of fun time in the Family Fun Night 5/13/2022
Due to pandemic concerns, we were not able to hold our annual Chinese New Year party in February, but we made it up with our Family Fun Night in May on Friday the 13th! Thanks to the great effort by the Student Council and numerous board members, we have good participation of students playing till late hours, fundraising with ice cream and milk tea. The pleasant evening weather also help us in enjoying the cheerful outdoor family time.
Our PTA Director Ken Law took lots of pictures here, while our school official photographer Philip Wong took a whole album!

Congratulations to our winners in the ANCCS contests!
Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (ANCCS) conducted their annual academic contests on March 27 and April 3 this year. With much hard work and diligent preparations from both the teachers and the students, we competed with many other fellow students from numerous Chinese schools in the bay area and achieved a superb performance. Congratulations to all our students in participating in this challenging event.
Here are some happy pictures from our school official photographer Philip Wong.

We will make use of the Picture Day on 2/2/2024 to present each winner with a commemorative certificate and they will be our first in line to join the ANCCS academic competition scheduled to be on 3/24/2024.

Class Observation Days: Oct 6, Oct 13 and Nov 17.
Every year our school designated 3 days as Class Observation Days. They are meant to give parents a chance to observe the actual teaching process of their child's classroom. This year, the days are 10/6, 10/13 and 11/17. Interested parents are encouraged to go inside their child's classroom promptly at 7pm, stay and observe quietly till 7:30pm. If there are some recommendations or feedbacks, instead of informing the teacher at the classroom, parents should fill out a survey form and the school would collect all feedbacks and provide to the teacher anonymously.
Copies of the survey form will be placed at the hallway entrance of the two classroom floors. It can also be downloaded here or filled out online here.

Congratulations to our winners in ANCCS 光輝的十月國慶繪畫比賽.
Congratulations to two of our students in winning a prize in the drawing competition held by ANCCS! We can see their bright smiles holding their winning drawings.
Keep up the good work as our penmanship contest is coming soon by the end of October.

We are gracious to be able to take a class picture together again.
Our class picture day on Feb 18 went smoothly and it was so nice to be able to stand next to each other to take a picture again, instead of sending out a collage of Zoom windows. Many thanks to our school official photographer Philip Wong who took excellent pictures, and our photo editor Gabriella Wong who built in several enhancing backgrounds. Here are the class pictures. Let's hope we can take off our masks next time!
Successful Penmanship Contest.
We had our annual penmanship contest on Oct 27. With great student participation and many parents volunteering as our judges, we can now declare and congratulate the winners!

Unattended vehicles may be cited by the Sheriff's Department and/or towed away at car owner's expense.

To enforce this parking rule, the school will begin placing notices on unattended vehicles this school year.

Thank you for your cooperation.
