The 2017-18 school year is coming to an end! The school will be hosting a promotion ceremony this Friday (6/1/2018) at the gym inside the Student Center. Students and families should plan to be there at 7 p.m. At the conclusion of the ceremony, students will return to their classrooms where report cards are distributed and trophies given out for academic excellence. 2017-18學年即將結束。 本校將於本週五（6/1/2018）在學生中心內的室內運動場舉辦年終慶典。 請學生和家長們準時於7點出席。 在慶典結束後，學生和家長們將返回所屬班房，届時老師會發放成績表與及頒發各學術卓越獎。
The ANCCS 2018 Academic Contest held this past Sunday was fully concluded. What a great competition! All of our students gave their best and performed brilliantly. They should be proud of themselves! We would like to congratulate all the winning students, and thank all students who participated in this event. Most importantly, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our teachers for their coaching efforts and parents for giving their support and dedication. 2018年北加州中文學校聯合會學術比賽圓滿結束。 西谷學校的參賽同學們均有出色的表現。他們應為自己感到驕傲！ 恭喜所有獲獎同學，也謝謝所有參加同學。 我們亦感激老師的悉心指導和家長們的支持和奉獻。    The Annual Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (ANCCS) 2018 Academic Contest will be held on Sunday, March 25 at Leland High School in San Jose. 11 students from WVCLS will be competing in the Read-Aloud, Speech, and Penmanship contests.
Best of luck to our students! Furthermore, our student, Monica Tam, was awarded 1st place (High School Group) in the ANCCS 2018 Chinese New Year Poster Contest. Congratulations! Our last class observation opportunity will be held this Friday, 2/9/18. Parents may pick up an observation form at the Student Center or in the hallway on each floor of Building B before visiting their child's classroom. Completed questionnaire should be turned in to the school administrator at the Student Center. Feedback from parents is valuable to the teachers and the school.
Parents who submit a completed form will automatically enter a raffle for prizes. Raffle drawing will be held during the Chinese New Year Party on 2/16/18. 本校最後一次的觀課日將於本週五，2/9/18舉行。 家長可以在學生中心或B樓每層樓的走廊拿一張觀課表， 然後前往教室裡觀察。 完成問卷後，請交給學生中心的學校管理員。 老師和學校均非常重視家長們的反饋。 提交完整表格的家長將自動進入獎品抽獎。 抽獎活動將在2/16/18的農曆新年派對舉行。 Our school is once again offering merit scholarship to our current WVCLS students who are juniors or seniors in high school with the intention to matriculate at a college, university or higher education institution.
Application requirements and detail information can be found on our scholarship webpage. The deadline for submitting application is March 30, 2018.
